1) AMS 5643 (17/4 PH) is an American aerospace grade stainless steel with 4% copper that can be hardened by a low temperature precipitation hardening heat treatment to produce excellent mechanical properties at high strength levels. 2) condition: Can be supplied in annealed condition (Condition A), or heat treated as follows:- Condition H900 (900°F) Condition H925 (925°F) Condition H1025 (1025°F) Condition H1075 (1075°F) Condition H1100 (1100°F) Condition H1150 (1150°F) AMS 5643 (17/4 PH) material should not be used in the annealed condition. This grade of stainless steel has a typical density of 7.75kg/dm3 and is magnetizable.

5. AMS 5643 Corrosion Resistance: AMS 5643 (17/4 PH) is superior to straight chrome grades such as 410 and approaches the corrosion resistance of nickel chrome grades. In many corrosive media, it is equal to class 302. Corrosion resistance will be affected by surface finish and aging heat treatment. AMS 5643 (17/4 PH) welds very well and can be welded by all commercial processes. Preheating and postheating practices of standard hardenable stainless steel grades are not required. 6. AMS 5643 Application : For applications requiring high strength and good corrosion resistance, as well as high fatigue strength, good wear resistance and stress corrosion resistance. It is suitable for complex parts that require machining and welding, and require freedom of deformation. Used in the aerospace, defense offshore oil and gas industries. It is used for mechanical parts such as guide parts, motor shafts, valve stems, gears, etc.
